Dr. Mazin Gilbert is the Vice President of Advanced Technology at AT&T Labs. He leads AT&T’s research and advanced technology of its software-defined network. In this role, Mazin oversees advancements in networking and IP network management, big data, video technologies, artificial intelligence, information systems and visualization, algorithms and optimization, and scalable, reliable software platforms. Mazin was previously the Assistant Vice President of Intelligence Services and Platform Research, where he and his team were responsible for using AT&T’s data and machine learning capabilities to build services that can transform the way we do things today. Mazin holds 154 U.S. patents in communication and multimedia processing and has published over 100 technical papers in human-machine communication. He is the author of the book titled, “Artificial Neural Networks for Speech Analysis/Synthesis.” With more than three decades of experience under his belt, Mazin has worked in the industry at AT&T Labs and previously Bell Labs, BBC and British Telecom. Tim works as Senior Program Manager Developer Engagement in the product management group at SUSE. Previously Tim was with Ericsson’s Cloud & NFV product development unit, where he lead the Open Source & Ecosystem team. Previously, Tim used to be with Ericsson Research in the Wireless Access Networks section, where he held research project management and standardization delegate roles. Before joining Ericsson, Tim was with RWTH Aachen Univeristy at the Communication Networks institute, where he researched analytical modeling methods for dimensioning of packet networks and radio spectrum demand.

Tina currently serves as an Enterprise Architect with Arm, a technical leadership position on the Enterprise Open Source Enablement team. In this highly visible role, Tina analyzes, designs, and implements dynamic strategies to establish first tier status for Arm architecture within open source communities and projects. She utilizes a thorough knowledge of relevant NFV/SDN collaborative open source initiatives, open source development tools, processes, build systems, packaging, continuous integration, and test methodologies.
As an open source thought leader within Arm, Tina develops and maintains strong partnerships with open source communities in support of multiple architectures, while prioritizing requirements for open source enablement in collaboration with Arm key stakeholders and relevant ecosystem partners.
Tina previously excelled as the Digital Domain Expert for Connectivity at Philips Lighting, where she championed the company’s first NB-IoT solution. She facilitated the company’s transition from conventional lighting to LED and digital lighting technology. Expertly guiding new concepts into research and development, Tina thrived in the development of compelling new ways to connect people, places, and devices.
Additionally, Tina was employed by Huawei (both in China and the US) for over 16 years as a Technical Lead and Principal Engineer. In these roles, Tina directed network architecture design, new product definition, product marketing strategy, technology research, standards definition, and embedded software design. Her top contribution in this role was the design and delivery of Huawei’s first IPv6 network migration professional service product.
Tina holds a seat on the Linux Foundation Networking (LFN) Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). She leads VPP/AArch64 activities in FD.io—representing the Arm ecosystem in TSC. Tina currently directs the OPNFV Auto project as PTL, integrating ONAP onto OPNFV (upon both x86 and Arm architecture and hardware) with a focus on Edge Cloud use case and test case.
